Nvidia Geforce2 GTS, LG FLatron 774

Hi!!

Maybe any of you have the same hardware:

Nvidia Geforce 2 GTS
Monitor 17" LG Flatron 774FT

... or maybe you know what problem do I have...

I've just installed nvidia's drivers following their instructions of deactivating the use of DRI and GLcore and activating GLX.

I've been trying with many combinations of the XConfig-4 file parameters like framebuffer and resolutions, and all the correct values of refresh rates for my monitor, but my X can't start with this new drivers I have to go back to the nv drivers (I'm under Debian SID)
Curiously once it worked but I think I changed something and when i rebooted it didn't work... (anyway I don't remember any change done)

Thank you very much!!

i installed the original driver from nvidia but they did not work and the one in redhat is not working too so i am currently using vesa drivers in redhat vesa worked in mandrake to and you should be able to work with them in debian
but the problem with them is when x server starts screen blinks for a second

please, help!

Does the monitor really matter in the X configuration?

I'll try more options...

but please, tell me something that can help me...

The monitor you pick determines things like refresh rates (not sure how this affects LCDs, only played with LCD monitors once on a laptop in passing) so you *could* try a different monitor selection which would make X use different refresh rates.
