nvidia fx 5800 problem

I have a P4 2.0 GHz with 1 GB RAM and 2 HD, on RAID, 1 with 40 GB with Win XP and the other one a WD JB800 with Linux Mandrake installed on it. My problem is: I recently bought a new Nvidia FX 5800 card and when trying to install Suse 8.2. or Mandrake 9.0 after loading the kernel it simply stops for about 30 seconds, then the CD and the HD are starting buzzing and the image on the screen becomes black with a flickering blue margin and everything stops.
What is interesting is that the preinstalled Mandrake still works, but I would really like to go to SuSe and even if I would try to reinstall Mandrake this wouldn't work.
Can anybody help me with any idea?
Thank you very much!
Gabriel
