Nvidia drivers at installation start
Hello,
is it possible to create a driver disk with drivers for the nvidia geforce 4 ti4200? I want to install the driver from the beginning of the installation of Suse Linux 8.2! Does anyone know something? ---------------------------------- Finally i got my system working :-) I was able to get my graphics card working after updating per SuSE YOU! @claudiu_t Take a look at your Monitors Manual and look for the horizontal and vertical frequencys. Then start Yast 2 and edit your settings under Hardware! This has to work. Good luck! |
Why? - should install the xfree driver just fine. After that you can get the nvidia drivers.

What about the case when the video card is not recognized at all by the SuSE 8.2 installer?
I was forced to make a text mode install and surprise at the X installation the installer recognized my video card. I still installed the nVidia drivers in order to get 3D acceleration work. However, I still have problems with the monitor. I am unable to set the same frequency as in Windows so the image is altered under X. Any ideas how to change this in XConfig file? Regards, Claudiu |
Strange - should work with that card for the install.
I don't use Suse anymore but the normal tool to do this is Sax2 - never had much success with it though. You can always use xf86config or xf86cfg - will ask for the refresh rates of your monitor. |
