Nvidia driver problems.... More Problems
I got the driver compiled and installed with kernel 3.7.9. However, now it kicks me out of X fequently.
It sucks. Here is the relevent parts of the X log file: Code:
[ 727.443] (II) NVIDIA(GPU-0): NVIDIA 3D Vision stereo. Can anybody help me figure out what the problem is? |
What about using the current testing 64 bit "NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-313.26.run"

That being said, I already downloaded the newest driver and will be installing it soon. |

I also didn't have to do anything weird to get it to compile, so I guess the NVIDIA team stepped up and fixed the problem with newer kernels. However, I assume that it was the kernel change that fixed my crashing problem and not the newer driver. But, if anybody has the same problem as me, hopefully you can do the same as me to fix the problem. |
X has crashed again, this time I didn't even get a backtrace printed in the X logs. Just the word "Backtrace:" and then the end of the file. I also didn't see any of the other info about misbehaving drivers or anything in the log, just running fine, then crash with no backtrace.
Although, it does seem to be a lot more stable now, maybe that issue was something totally unrelated, and the driver is now perfoming fine. I cannot tell. |
Code:
[ 57.916] (II) NVIDIA(GPU-0): Display (AU Optronics Corporation (DFP-0)) does not support Another logfile exerpt. This one has a lot more information. This really sucks, my computer is really not very useful in this state.... |
