nVidia driver problem ?

A friend of mine installed in his PC linux. It works ok as long he uses an LCD monitor.
But when he switched on CRT monitor he found out that it displays blurred image
( as through the fog ).
He thinks that the monitor is the issue of problem... but he tried the same monitor on the other system (i.e. its monitor on other PC) .....
that displays ok ( i.e. the monitor works 100% ok )

Has someone got the same problem ?
Any hint ?
At least where must I dig to find out what is going on here ?

look in the /etc/X11/XF86config or XF86config-4 depending on the distro he's using, and read the issues about configuring displays in /usr/share/doc/NVIDIA_GLX-1.0/nvidia-settings-user-guide.txt (if he installed the standard drivers downloaded from nvidia), so he can add/modify the corresponding lines, his problem is provably due to autodetection of the LCD screen and changing to CRT without reconfiguring for this kind of monitor
Hope it helps...
