Nvidia Asylum GeForce FX 5200 256 MB AGP with SuSE 9.1

Nvidia Asylum GeForce FX 5200 256 MB AGP. I am using SuSE 9.1. It was extremly easy to do.
I went to http://www.nvidia.com/page/home, clicked on download drivers, then clicked on the link for linux/freebsd users and downloaded NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6111-pkg1.run I read the read me file and it seemed a little overwhelming, that is until I tried it, It WAS EASY, did I say that already, lol. SuSe users have different instructions I guess but nothing to fear and not at all that different. I rebooted SuSE 9.1 and booted failsafe. I logged in as root and ran sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6111-pkg1.run (of course in the directory the file was in.) That was it. I rebooted and it worked. I just bought the 3d Graphics card and before I did I read through some posts. ATI seems to have a few more problems with Linux but I heard a lot of good things about Nvidia. So I had to buy it and I am glad I did. It works great. I love the screen savers now, lol, they don't jump hesitiate or go extremly slowwww now. I will be trying out some games later, when I find good ones for Linux.

Using SuSE 9.1 pro AMD64 with a Leadtek Geforce FX5600 256 Mb 8xAGP and i had even less hassle than you.
I just ran the YOU updater and installed the Nvidia patch, rebooted and hey presto there was my Nvidia splash screen
A welcome relief .... i have had endless problems getting this card to work under previous versions of SuSE
If you want a game to really test out your card, i can recomend Unreal Tournament 2004 for Linux, I'm running the 64bit bersion and its stunning.
Enjoy.

I will give Unreal Tournament 2004 a try. I really am looking forward to trying my card in Linux. And don't you love SuSE 9.1? It has all you need to do it yourself but also makes the basic stuff simple and easy to get going. Well usually. There are a few exceptions, but only a few.

edit:
And I have to also praise Nvidia, their products and their support for Linux.
