nVidia 7025/7050 GPU and X.org nv driver

I have nVidia's 7025 GPU integrated on my mobo and the nv driver doesn't work with it. Using Fedora 7 so guess my X.org is fairly recent too.

Anyone else with these chipsets (they differ only in HDMI vs. DVI-D port I believe) have any luck with a driver other than VESA?

I'm stuck at 800x600 res.

Nvidia hasn't released a driver for it yet (the beta doesn't even support it yet). I would try installing the beta anyway and see what it does. You might at least get a higher resolution...

Was worth a try... I got the black screen of death. Had to ctrl-alt-del to restart cleanly.

For anyone else with Fedora who falls into same predicament: after rebooting hit "a" button at grub prompt and append "single" (no quotes) to the line that appears and then hit enter. Once you're at the # prompt type:
chkconfig nvidia off

You might also have to edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf to use VESA driver if you compiled yourself, but with Livna's binary I didn't have to. Just did a "yum remove kmod-nvidia" and the mess was cleaned up for me.

Actually came out the 21st of last month, but FYI support for this chipset has finally been added.

Thanks again to Phoronix for the excellent info!
