nVidea GeForce 6800 GT 256 pCI-Express, SuSE won't let 32bit dispaly?

hello everyone! I won't have SuSE 10.0 until wednesday due to shipping delays with my friggin' harddrive but, I popped in SuSE 9.2 Live CD and there was a problem with my display. It lookeed fine but when i went int properties i noticed it was on default 16 bit color, i went to change it to 32 bit and it wasn't even listed! the highest it went was 24 bit. I went into options and i changed my graphics display to what I have which is a nVidea geForce 6800 GT, still, wouldn't let me change it to 32 bit color. Will this also happen with SuSE 10.0? If so, anyone know how i can resolve this problem so i can get the most out of my graphics card with LinuX?
Thanks! :)

SUSE 10.0 won't ship with the proper NVIDIA Linux driver due to licencing issues, but SUSE Watcher will offer it as a download (along with critical / security updates to other packages) once you install. This driver should have more options and give the expected performance.

Ahh thanks rjw, what is this SuSE watcher u speak of? Is it like an updating tool i run once i install or will it automatically run after install?

SUSEWatcher is, to describe it accurately, a panel applet (find it in the 'system area' by the clock) which runs automatically (in KDE) and checks for package updates for you. It only provides critical / security updates and additional things like updates for drivers and release notes. It has a traffic light colour scheme, so if updates are available, its icon goes red.

Other package updates have to be obtained using YaST (with extra sources (servers) added), by manual install or by setting up one of the other package management utitlities (apt, klik, smart etc.).
