NTFS not supported by my kernel
Am using fedora core 3 but when i try mounting my ntfs partitions it says ntfs aint supported by my kernel. Does this mean i have to recompile the kernel. If so I would have reinstall all my software right
My linux kernel is 2.6.9-1.667

recompiling the kernel doesn't mean you have to reinstall anything. It's like saying upgrading to SP2 will force you to reinstall.
'til, you probably can/want to avoid a recompilation... have you tried "modprobe ntfs" first? Also, I don't know much about fedora but I think they provide the ntfs module in a separate package, you might need to download and install something. I suggest you to search on google about it.

Looks like a pretty good service for anyone on RH/Fedora.
The OP should be aware that this will (generally) be read only support.
If you want to move data between XP and Linux, think about a VFAT shared partition - *MUCH* safer then trying to install write support for NTFS.

It's really simple:
1. Go to the link /bin/bash gave you
2. Read the instructions.
3. Look in the top group of rpms, your kernel is the last one down
3. Select the rpm which matches your system
4. Install the rpm
5. Read the instructions for mounting a NTFS partition
6. Mount the partition
7. Each time the kernel is updated by Red Hat, there is a new rpm for the new kernel within 1 day of the kernel release. Just install the rpm and done.
Enjoy

But there could be someone else with the same problem searching the forums. If I have helpful information, I will post it regardless of the age of the post.
