nstor scsi raid not concurrent between two systems

Hi,

I have two redhat systems mounting a scsi raid array over a Fiber Channel switch connected to an NSTOR disk array (I don't know the model number, sorry).

Both systems can mount the /dev/sda1 partition, and both systems see the existing files and directory structure on the volume.

However, when one system writes to the volume, the other system does not see it. For instance if I do

echo "hi" > /mnt/raid1/hello

on one of the redhat systems, and then go to the other and do a

ls /mnt/raid1/hello

the file is not found.

I don't see how this is possible since both systems see the data that is already there. That indicates to me that they are both mounting the same (and only) volume on the RAID, so why are changes made to one not showing up on the other?

Very puzzled and feeling like a newb... thanks for any help
