Novation Launchpad not given enough power

Hello.

Now that I've made a switch to elementary OS, my Novation Launchpad is not being given enough power to even be recognized in GParted. It worked fine with Windows 7, but now it isn't working. I was wondering if it's a power issue or a USB cable issue, or something else all together, but I was hoping you guys could help me figure out what's going on.

I would not expect the launchpad to be a mass storage device and so would not expect it to be recognized by gparted. You should be able to see that it is connected via the lsusb command.

I assume that you installed the drivers and any included windows software so expect it would work fine in windows. From a quick search the launchpad should work as a native alsa midi device under later kernels and alsa builds so no need to compile any drivers. I have no actual experience using the Launchpad.
