Hi

I've just installed Mandrake 9.2 and updated the kernel to version 2.6.3 on my IBM Thinkpad i1400 series.
After the update my Xircom pcmcia card doesn't load on bootup. Before the update there were two beeps on startup who I believe indicate initalizing the pcmcia card, now there are no beeps. I can still activate the card by starting drakconfig and choose the "Activate now" button after selecting the device. But I would prefer it to start on bootup. If someone could tell me how it would be great.

Problem 2
Before the update i was unable to detect my ISA pnp soundcard. Which is a Yamaha OPL3 chip. After the update it is detect on isapnp list on startup but ALSA doesn't detect any soundcard and therfore it doesn't load any modules. How can I make ALSA detect the soundcard?

Help would be appericiated

you may wish to repost and seperate the issues. the sound people may not be looking at network issues.

Also, I threw out my opl3 sound card. games in linux did not like it and I also had difficulty with it being recognized.
