Not able to configure yamaha DB50XG on Santa Cruz Tutrle Beach to play midi

I am new to Linux and decided to install Kubuntu Dapper 6.06 on an AMD64x2 +3800, 2 Gb Ram, 200 HDD SATAII, Turtle Beach Sante Cruz with Yamaha daughterboard DB50XG.

output of uname -r
2.6.15-27-amd64-k8

Alsa works o.k., timidity plays midi files, but I need to output midi to DB50XG and use yamaha midi banks, since my midi works are made in xg format (not gm).

Do I need to activate mpu-401 ==> DB50XG ?

also the output of aplay -l gives
