Not able to change display resolution in Fedora Core 4

Hello all,
I have a dual-boot PC with Fedora core 4 and Windows Server 2003 installed. During the installation,a set up manager(i do not remember the name exactly, i guess it is attribute ) asked for the graphics card driver details which is VIA. But it detected the monitor as Samsung SyncMaster(by default) and the i could not change the resolution. It is fixed at 640X480.
I tried changing the resolution in the xorg.conf in the /etc/X11 directory. I also tried changing the monitor options in Display under System Tools. Monitor options could be changed but Resolution could not be.

Can anybody help?
Thanks in advance,
Vaithy.
