Not a Linux problem, but hardware related thinkpad

My thinkpad t43 has been having this red and green thin line on the right side of the screen. It extends all the way from the bottom to the top and is right on the edge. Its fine for everyday use, but it is really just bugging me (Ive had it for 6 months now). The funny thing is that when I press on the back of the lid it goes away in certain spots (i think the monitor cable is not seated?).

I tried seating the monitor cable connection that is on the motherboardbut that didnt work. Is there any way to fix this? I dont want to take my LCD out and reseat the monitor cable.

Also I am SURE, 100 percent sure its not a software problem. Please take my word for it.

Send the laptop in for repair while it is still under warranty. Provide the information in this query to the repair site. Yes I know it hard to give up your laptop for any period of time but it is worth it. remove the hard drive and battery before shipping. This saves a bit of money since the laptop is "lighter" and the repair center does not need the hard drive anyway since they remove it and use one of their own.
