noob needs help with: wireless device renames itself on reboot... odd...

I've tried searching everywhere for this one... so i'm sorry if im an idiot and the fix is obvious, but its honestly beyond this noob. Getting my intel pro wireless 2200 card to work under fedora core 5 has been a bit troublesome, but the other day i finally got it to work... the problem is that every time i restart the computer, it comes up under a different device name:
1st time: devXXXX
2nd time: devXXXXX
3rd time: eth1 <-- only happend once
4th time: devXXXXX
5th time: devXXXX
and so on...
The wirless does in fact work, its just a hassle because i cant set up any startup scripts because it keeps renaming itself! Ive never heard of this before. Again, im sorry if this is an obvious problem.
