Non postscript, Canon printers, Linux, and CUPS (the procedure with MANY angles)

Working on installing driver for Canon LBP6000 printer, this one: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consum...ersAndSoftware, titled: CAPT Printer Driver for Linux Version 2.60. Installed CUPS and have configured it as close as am currently able to.

There does seem to be communication between printer, CUPS, and localhost:631.

Learned this printer does not use postscript and therefore only needs driver, not a ppd.

I'm looking for someone to help me troubleshoot CUPS, and the print driver to make sure all the variables have been entered correctly.

Troubleshoot what problem? CUPS should be as easy as "Adding Printers and Classes," then "Add Printer," fill in details. If not that simple, tells us exactly what problem you are having. If you are having trouble downloading a driver from Canon, what difficulty are you having?

Ok, so....the printer is no longer in your possession?

If so, don't forget to mark your thread "Solved"
