I am trying to utilise my nokia 6680 as a GPRS modem on suse 10.0, i have connected it and set it up as a modem already, but am unable to dial out, if i try querying the modem i get an error "cannot open modem" i am using the usb cable.
Check and see which device are you binding the phone modem to ? For eg. I have connected my Nokia 3230 over bluetooth using rfcomm and so set the modem to /dev/rfcomm0 in the appropriate file in /etc/ppp/peers.
In all probability you have specified the wrong device to connect to.
That has already been checked, i have even tried changing its connection port to all other possibilities with no luck, i have had this same problem with a 9300 comunicator @ a friends place with the same Distro but a differenct PC.
