Nokia 6225
It's there a way to get into my Nokia 6225 with Linux??
I have a USB DKU-5 cable for it wich work fine with Windows, but I haven't found a Sofware to manage the phone in Linux |
a quick google found this:
http://www.gnokii.org/faq.shtml and this: http://www.mwiacek.com/gsm/soft/gammu.html I am looking at purchasing this phone soon, assuming I can talk to it with linux.. Please post if you have any luck! |
So, far...
I installed Gnokii... I connect the DKU-5 cable and find out that FC3 recognize it: Quote:

I am also trying to get the 6225 working. I've tried a few things so far and only some small success.
Using a usb IrDA piece of hardware FC3 managed to detect and install the driver: % dmesg pl2303 3-1:1.0: PL-2303 converter detected usb 3-1: PL-2303 converter now attached to ttyUSB0 I then manually installed the irda module: % /sbin/modprobe irda And then did: % irdadump 12:20:23.408060 xid:cmd ffffffff < 000017c4 S=6 s=0 (14) 12:20:23.507483 xid:cmd ffffffff < 000017c4 S=6 s=1 (14) 12:20:23.607466 xid:cmd ffffffff < 000017c4 S=6 s=2 (14) 12:20:23.707452 xid:cmd ffffffff < 000017c4 S=6 s=3 (14) 12:20:23.708005 xid:rsp c50cb14e > 000017c4 S=6 s=3 onesimus hint=0400 [ Computer ] (24) 12:20:23.807438 xid:cmd ffffffff < 000017c4 S=6 s=4 (14) 12:20:23.907421 xid:cmd ffffffff < 000017c4 S=6 s=5 (14) 12:20:24.021406 xid:cmd ffffffff < 000017c4 S=6 s=* Nokia 6225 hint=b125 [ PnP Modem Fax Telephony IrCOMM IrOBEX ] (27) 12:20:24.129390 snrm:cmd ca=fe pf=1 c50cb14e < 000017c4 new-ca=04 LAP QoS: Baud Rate=1152000bps Max Turn Time=50ms Data Size=512B Window Size=1 Add BOFS=0 Min Turn Time=1000us Link Disc=16s (32) 12:20:24.129940 ua:rsp ca=04 pf=1 c50cb14e > 000017c4 LAP QoS: Baud Rate=115200bps Max Turn Time=500ms Data Size=2048B WindowSize=7 Add BOFS=0 Min Turn Time=5000us Link Disc=12s (31) 10 packets received by filter Ctrl-C So now the phone seems to be available I need to try doing something - I am currently searching for some IrOBEX utils to see if I can get anything actually happening. Anyone else had any successes? Jason. |

Well I guess I'm lucky I bought a sony ericsson. I'm connected via that phone right now, writing this message :) The bluetooth link worked so exceptionally fine that I never bothered with the USB cable or IR link. I don't know about sending files though, my Nautilus file manager only has bluetooth file send (which seem to work fine), not irda, but maybe there is some additional plugin.
Anyway, can you talk to it using e.g. minicom? Try issuing some AT commands. To establish a connection, use kppp and enter the phone number *99# and use any user name and password (I think this applies to all GPRS/3G operators, but I've only had experience with three, and only in Sweden). That should be it. |
