no video while booting up fedora core kde 3.5

I have changed my 17" monitor, due to desk space to a 15"flat panel. My settings for the 17" was 85 hz I can change it to 60hz and I can use the flat panel, however when it is rebooting I cant see anything other than mode not supported until my desktop gets loaded... I suspect it is trying to run in 85hz while booting? can someone please tell me where to look to change this... I am having to boot with the 17" then switch to the flat panel. I am running fedora core with kde 3.5 desktop.

Sincerely :study:

Have you used sax2 to set your xorg.conf or XF86Config file? Try doing that instead of simply changing one setting by hand.

If that doesn't help then you can find more information here.

http://xfree86.org/4.4.0/XF86Config.5.html

If you go to that page you can scroll down about halfway down the page to the Monitor section and the Modes section. That will provide a lot of information about manually editing your X configuration file.
