Cool No Tv on with S3 twister graphic card

I have a S3 savage twister k graphic card, and I am using SuSE linux 9.0 professional.
Under Sax2 I can select my graphic card and when I choose the option tv on "which my card supports" I can't watch dvd's on my Tv, I only get a black screen.
Under winblows xp I was able to activate this feature and it worked. Is it possible under Linux and if so how?
Thanks for your assistance
