No tilt wheel side-scrolling with Logitech MX1000 in Kubuntu 6.10

I am trying to get the tilt-wheel side scrolling working on my Logitech MX1000 mouse in Kubuntu Edgy Eft. I've been using this tutorial from the Ubuntu Documentation to try and set things up. I have all my other buttons working like I want with
Code:
xbindkeys
it's just the side scroll that doesn't work. Here's the relevant portions of my xorg.conf file:
Code:
Section "InputDevice"
	Identifier	"Logitech MX1000"
	Driver "evdev"
	Option "Name" "Logitech USB RECEIVER"
	Option "HWHEELRelativeAxisButtons" "7 6"
EndSection
Code:
Section "ServerLayout"
	Option "AIGLX" "true"
	Identifier	"Default Layout"
	Screen "Default Screen"
	InputDevice	"Generic Keyboard"
	InputDevice	"Logitech MX1000" "CorePointer"
EndSection
I did set up the side-scroll in about:config in Firefox 2.0 using both techniques this tutorial describes and neither has worked. Any ideas?
