No soundcard detected
Hi all,
I have a PIV 3.2 GHz with Intel 915 chipset... I am running RedHat Linux 9. I tried running "sndconfig" as root, but it said "command not found". So I searched for it by
"find / -name sndconfig"
But sndconfig could not be found on the system.
So, I tried to configure soundcard (on-board) using redhat-config-soundcard. But it says "No soundcard detected". I loaded modules such as soundcore, ac97_codec, ac97; but nothing worked. For some reason, the i810_audio module didn't load.
Kindly do help me out.
Thanks,
Sambit

OOh....hey, the installation CD were from _______
If there are three CD's then, one of the CD's might contain the utility, sndconfig.
sndconfig is the best way of configuring your soundcard. Secondly, u cud consider, having a higher kernel version on your computer. Try having Fedora Core 3 or 2 if possible now.
If your soundcard is detected, you will hear "LINUS TORVALDS" speak...
nice to hear him, right?
