Fedora 5, kernel 2.6.16-1.2122_FC5 and have yet to hear a peep from my sd11g5. From other research on the web, it looks like alsa fixed bug #1600 just for me!
Changelog between 1.0.10 and 1.0.11 releases

Fixes ALSA bug#1600
I've been yummily updating daily, hoping that whatever I needed would eventually show up in one of the standard repositoires.
My output from yum list alsa* is:
Installed Packages
alsa-lib.i386 1.0.11-3.rc2.2 installed
alsa-utils.i386 1.0.11-4.rc2 installed
Available Packages
alsa-lib-devel.i386 1.0.11-3.rc2.2 core
alsa-tools.i386 1.0.10-2.fc5 extras
alsa-utils-debuginfo.i386 1.0.11-4.rc2 updates
alsamixergui.i386 0.9.0-0.2.rc1.fc5 extras
My technique for testing my soundcard is to use soundcard detection from gnome. It lists the CA0106 device, but when I ask it to play the sample sound -- no dice.
The scsound.log includes:

So, should I just keep waiting for kernel upgrades or am I lost until I do something different?
