No Sound with Red Hat Linux 9 and SoundBlaster Live 24bit
Howdy Folks!
I recently installed RedHat Linux 9 and cannot get sound from my SoundBlaster Live 24bit card. I've installed the emu10k1 driver(I get an error when I run "make install") and such and its still not working. If I run sndconfig it detects the card but says its unsupported. Help!??!?

So, your kernel does not support Audigy.
Try alsamixer as root, however if you have alsa installed

I'm having the same problem with the same soundcard on a Libranet Debian system. I use Adminmenu, click the configure sound button, get a terminal emulator type box in which runs an application that's suposed to detect the card and pick th driver. It IDs the card as "Creative Labs unknown device 1102:0007," and says I have to pick the driver. Naturally, I pick emu10k1 because the menu labels this one as the choice for "SB Live!" But nothing happens. So I try ALSA and I still have no luck.
Thank you
Paul
p.s. lspci says, "00:08.0 Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs: Unknown device 0007."

bama, Have you tried the ca0106 for the SBLIVe 24Bit, The thing is the emu10k1 is for the 16Bit SB Live... as far as I understand... If you use the ca0106 and load the driver with modprobe snd_ca0106 and the other mods that you need. it shoudl work... But you must be versed in CVS compiles... cor the ca0106 comes directly from the CVS... I am going to look for a site to help you... Im not sure if there is a explanation in this forum.. but I will look....
