No sound till 1/2 way up. Then low

Even after adjusting the sound within the app I'm playing a movie on, having the sound at full volume is still very low. I am using a creative audigy 2 zs. Is there an app or a setting somewhere that I can't find within FC4 to raise the sound levels up a bit?

Have you tried running alsamixer to adjust the volumes? If not, give it a shot.
