[SOLVED] NO sound in Knoppix 3.7/3.2 (Live CD)

hey guys,

i am kind of a newbie to linux! recently i have used Knoppix 3.2 and 3.7 , both live. The common prb i had was with them is that i get no sound output!

my MB is ASUS K8V Del, with an onboard sound card, VIA Technologies |VT8233 [AC97 Audio Controler]

is it possible for me to set the sound right?? please do help me out!

any kind of help is appreciated!

Knoppix has pretty good hardware detection but maybe it needs a little help with your card. With what are you testing the sound with... have you checked the volume controls etc..

If so you can run the sound condiguration from a terminal:

sudo sndconfig

try typing knoppix26 at the boot prompt if you haven't done so yet.

thanx for the quick resp guys!

1. I have checked with the volume and it is set at max.
2. Had run the sndconfig but the prb is it says my card aint supported yet - i want to know if i can make it!
3. will try the knoppix26 command at nxt boot! - its live CD but still i will try!
