No sound from CDROM


No sound from CDROM. Looked on threads to no avail. Please help.

CD Player: gnome-cd --unique --play --device %d
Functions properly but no sound
Volume adjusted to high

Sound Card: On-board audio (ECS K7S5A Pro)
SiS7012 PCI Audio Accelerator
Driver: i810_audio

Sound card tests OK

CDROM: Atapi CD-RW 52X24 (Verbatim)
Driver: none or built-in
Device: /dev/scd0
Sound through headphones with music CD

CDROM Drive is connected to Motherboard with correct connector

Redhat 9

Do you have the Audio CD cable connected. Did you unmute and adjust the volume of the CD mixer.

If you have ALSA installed go to
http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc...odule=intel8x0
Check your modules.conf or conf.modules if your sound is set properly.

Try using cdda2wav if you have it. Read the man pages for it.
