no sound after upgrade to ubuntu 7.04

Hey all,

The sound on my laptop worked fine in edgy, but when I installed feisty it wouldn't work. In my sound devices it lists two: HDA Intel (alsa mixer) and Conexant CX20551 (Waikiki) (OSS Mixer). I try both, but I never get any sound (and yes the mute is turned off and the volume is up). How can I solve this?

There have been a lot of changes to the Conexant code since alsa-driver-1.0.14rc3 was released, and I'm not sure how much Ubuntu has of those changes. Best I can recommend is to download a newer alsa release from here. Also, could you run this script and post the results? Thanks.

Newer version detected:
ALSA-Info script has been updated. Please re-run it.
hewi28@ab3n:~/Desktop$ bash alsa-info.sh
alsa-info.sh: line 1: syntax error near unexpected token `newline'
alsa-info.sh: line 1: `<HTML>'
hewi28@ab3n:~/Desktop$

Try redownloading the script. It worked fine for me this morning.
