no printing in koffice

for some strange reason, koffice can't make contact with the cups server. printing works fine in e.g. kontact or opera, but doens't work in koffice. wich is - quite obviously - very annoying . does some one know what to do?

by the way, i'm working with gentoo, kde 3.3.0 and koffice 1.3.2
