"No Printer Driver" But the printer is installed and works fine.

I'm using mint13 Maya with Mate, and I have a Brother printer MFCJ6710DW. It is installed, and works fine, but rather regularly up pops an error identifying properly the printer, but proclaiming that there is no driver for it. Obviosly not true, And If you tell me just live with it, I will, but it's a little annoying. Any ideas?

I would back up /etc/cups/* in case you want to revert. http://localhost:631
Try giving your printer a ppd. YMMV. Mine certainly does. But it depends on the printer, and I've no experience with brother printers. Have fun anyhow.

Thanks, business kid.

I just now tok a look at /etc/cups/, and it seems there is a ppd file installed with the same identification as my printer. but the error message still persists.

Being a 'newbie' in Linux (as in most other things) depends on what aspect we are talking about.
