No mouse, no network
 

Hello. I recently have been having troubles with a couple of things:

First, I was using internet normally with both my slackware 11 and windows xp, but one day, for absolute no reason, I wouldn't have network access under linux, only with windows.

Second, I downloaded and configured kernel 2.6.18 but i'm having trouble with mouse. I tried all protocols from xorgconfig but it didn't work.

Any suggestions for both problems?

By the way my mouse is a generic ps/2 optical mouse and it was being detected by hotplug before I installed the new kernel. My network adapter is NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller and even using the same IP/Gateway configuration as they are on Windows, I can't even ping the router! I can only ping myself...
