No Linux driver for Nforce4

Yes, I searched the site and did some googling.
I have an Nforce4 Elitegroup mobo + an Asus 6600 video board and I'm running Debian Sarge 2.6 kernel.
I had no trouble at all getting hardware 3D acceleration using Nvidia graphics driver.
I want to get the sound running ( Alsa ) but the
Nvidia Linux drivers page
doesn't have any one available for the Nforce4 AMD mobo.
Should I install the driver available for Nforce 1/2/3 mobos ?
tia for any info

If I am not mistaken, nForce 4 motherboards are for AMD 64 processors. So the nForce1/2/3 drivers will not work unless you are running 32-bit (i386) Linux.

But then again, this site might help you.

I finally downloaded and installed successfully the NForce 1/2/3 driver
NFORCE-Linux-x86-1.0-0301-pkg1.run
I'm running Gentoo Sarge ( x86 32 bits ) and now I have everything working:
Network, audio and 3D hardware acceleration.

Thanks for the info Bushidozen
