No /dev/psaux

I just installed Debian Linux on my computer, I am using the amd64 kernell.
The installation went just fine, but when I tried to start gnome it failed and said it couldn't initialize my mouse, because /dev/psaux didn't exist. I checked that and I really have no /dev/psaux.
So I figured I'll make one using ./MAKEDEV busmice, which didn't work. Then I used mknod /dev/psaux c 10 1, which worked. I could start gnome. However my mouse still acted a bit funny, scrolling as I just moved my mouse over the screen en clicking several times instead of one.
So I figured I'll look at that tomorrow and shut down my pc. Now I just restarted my pc and got the no /dev/psaux error again. The psaux I had created has disappeared and keeps doing so each time I restart my computer :S
