Which Displaymanager do you use?
Gnome or KDE?
Did you check /var/log/Xorg.0.log
for any Errors?
Have you already tried other users?

Which VideoCard do you use? And Monitor type?
Strange is that a blank (blue) screen is diplayed including a mouse pointer...
But please check your /etc/X11/xorg.conf maybe you've got a Backupfile that you can resume?
or use system-config-display and configure your xorg

Please let us check if you have a file ".xsession-errors" and if so you maybe want to post it so we can work on it.
