no audio output in video files
hello friends....
i m facing a weird prob....
1. when i play audio files i can hear songs..
but when run any video files i dont hear any audio......
i've checked all the settings ...sound setting, alsa settings....
2. no startup sound even when i have set the startup sound....
by the way i m using slackware 10.2.

the media files....mpeg,avi etc...
what i mean is when i play audio files like mp3 songs etc i can hear audio output....
but when i play video files like mpeg, avi etc i can see video but there is no audio output....

What players are you using for them? Some use OSS and you need to turn on emulation.

Call up Kmix, and if you have a bunch of extra sliders on the right side of the panel, start turning those up and see if that doesn't help.  (helped me when I had the same problem)
