Open etc/X11/XF86Config by any editing software (xemacs for example) and do any changes there.
ADD:
load "glx"
TO THE LIST OF LOAD's
CHANGE:
driver 'nv'
TO:
driver 'nvidia'
IN THE DEVICE LIST..
Thats all!

yes, if you have:
load "dri"
load "glcore"

IN THE XF86Config file
Then, delete them.. But do not forget to add instead:
load "glx"
------------
afterwards, run:
>switch2nvidia_glx
-------
Then:
restart the X server by clicking:
Ctrl+Alt+Backspace simultaneously.

Good luck..!

If I was of any help click the affero button

same problem...

hum... it doen't work... :-(

How can I uninstall the driver? I'm going to compile the Debian-specific one... (I didn't know it existed).

Anyway, I think it isn't necessary, so I send you my log file, maybe you can see the problem that I can't: (sorry for sending this big text)

If you installed it from an RPM package by running rpm on the downloaded rpm file (XXXXXXXNUMBER.RPM) then you can remove it by running:
>rpm -e XXXXXXX

Leave things installed.. do not play around too much with the source.
However,
Change the etc/X11/XF86Config back the way it was.

In Device:
Change nvidia to nv
In the load list, remove:
load "glx"
----------------
Or run YAST2, and click on HARDWARE->Graphics card
and change configuration in there..
..................
Or run update from YAST2 and update your system from suse website. most graphics card configuratin stuff will be overwritten if you update.
