NIC detection with costom kernel
 

I am trying to install an NIC and had to create a custom kernel. I am using RedHat 9 .
Now if I run the custom kernel, none of the cards are recognized(doesnt turn on when plugged in)

But when I run the original kernel it is recognized. Where did I go wrong ? Can someone please help me out with this ?

Did you enable the module for the devices in the kernel config?
Did you enable them as modules or as part of the kernel?

Reading some of your other post and the things you have gone through I was wondering if you may wish to use a newer distro. If wishing to remain in the Redhat family then the latest releases are called Fedora Core. Latest is Feodra Core 6.

Benefits would be 2.6 kernels. More Hardware support from the start. Auto detection of USB features as well.

You have asked me if I enabled the module for the device in the kernel config. I enabled PCMCIA/hotplug support under General Setup (set to option y) by doing a "make xconfig".
Do I have to enable anything else ?
