nic detection

my nic doesnt get detected in linux. when i do
lspci i see tat it does exist but the the module is not loaded(i checked wit modprob)actually it was gettin detected earlier but suddenly its unable to. but i am able to use it in windows..please someone help me out

have you tried:

ifconfig eth0 up

If the module your NIC needs is not loaded automatically, then you can just load it manually

modprobe <module>

As DrEwMoNeY mentioned, it may be that your interface is down, or perhaps DHCP is not running. More importantly though, in order for people to be able to offer suggestions, you will need to provide a lot more information and details about your equipment, what system messages you are seeing, etc. Just mentioning that something isn't working doesn't really give anyone much to go on
