Thumbs down NIC Configuration in Linux Server

My Linux server has two NIC's.

One NIC is for LAN and other NIC is for DSL modem to access internet.

This server will act as a proxy server in my LAN.

1. How i can configure the above two NIC's?

2. How i can assign the Gateway ( IP address?

Can anybody help me to acheive the same!!!!

You need to configure IPtables to nat (network address translate) your internal network requests out and back again.

Honestly, you need to bone up on iptables as its not just for NAT, it does a LOT of other fun stuff, anything firewall wise you can think of in fact. Right now, if you do a google search for "iptables nat script" or somesuch, it should get you started on the right track.
