NIC card works - how do i find which module its using?

Hi thanks for looking..

Im running slackware 10.1 on a AMD k6 (550mhz), 312mb SDRAM- and am absolutely ecstatic with it..

On boot it runs /etc/rc.d/rc.hotplug to probe for new hardware.. fine, but it slows the boot time down quite considerably.

When i chmod 000 rc.hotplug to stop it executing at boot i can see that all the hardware works fine, apart from the network card.. it says pcnet ht2001 0020 on the card itself but it is old old old so...

Now, ive googled around for what it says on the card but can't find anything.. also have searched the HCL.. and looked around in the /etc/rc.d/rc.modules to see anything that looks similar with no luck..

short of going through the whole list of NIC modules in rc.modules and trying each one separatly, is there some command that will tell me which module its using, or anyway of finding that out you can think of please?

Thanks very much

Well the command lsmod will at least show you all the loaded modules. Perhaps it's easier to find if you start there.

Solved :D thank you

Wow.. that made it easy thanks very much powadha..

Ive still to learn a lot of the available commands.:study: As it turns out there wern't that many modules loaded anyway so it was quite easy to spot, that command will certainly come in useful - not one im likley to forget!..

it was the "DECchip tulip (dc21x4x) PCI support" module for the PCNet HT2001 0020 on slackware 10.1 if that helps anyone else ;)

Now i've stopped slack running rc.hotplug at boot and the machine boots to console with my FTP server runnning in 30secs from power on.. wow..

Thanks again for your time its much appreciated.
