Unhappy newbies needs your help for mounting


hi i just migrated from windows to linux....
and i newly installed fedora core5 (graphic ver)recently...
i want to copy my old doc from my windows hdd...
the problem is that i cant save my edited fstab...
what should i do now...

in order to save fstab, you must be root

But that doesn't mean that you must login to system as root
Just type su in terminal, and then launch your favourite editor (vi, kedit, gedit, etc ..)

Your XP installation is likely to use NTFS which is not supported by Fedora out of the box. Check out the Fedora FAQ to learn how to access NTFS partitions.
