Newbie with Intel onboard graphics and fx5200 driver problems

Every type of linux I try, detects my geforce fx5200 as my onboard intel graphics even though it is displaying it through the fx5200, if i try and tell it to use the fx5200 xserver wont start. currently using suse and the yast nvidia driver install didnt do anything.

I really want acceleration on linux cos web browsing is such a pain as scrolling isnt fun

You have onboard graphics + a nvidia card,is that right,if it is and you want to use the nvidia card disable the onboard graphics in the bios. But it's not going to accelerate web browsing.
