Hello, everyone. I've got what will, hopefully, be a very simple question. I've been searching on google and this forum for the answer, but I'm beginning to get the feeling that I'm not searching for the right terms.
I'm running RedHat 9 on a GigaByte GA-8SQ800 motherboard, SIS655 chipset. In doing research on hardware 3d accelleration, I've run across many issues where the AGP slot isn't properly used. Most of them say something about checking in dmesg for the agpgart entries. I don't have anything regarding agp in the dmesg file, BUT the card works perfectly for everything except hardware accelleration.
Does this sound like a problem with Linux finding and using the AGP slot, or is it purely a driver issue?
For anyone who cares to know, I'm attempting to use an ATI Radeon 9700 Pro card, and when I run ATI's driver install package, I get unresolved symbols in the fglrx.o module. I was trying to run down those errors when I came across the information about possible AGP problems, and decided I'd track down that path before beating myself up any more with the drivers.
Thanks in advance for any and all help!
