newbie in trouble with adsl modem
Now i know this is probably a lame question but im new to linux and couldent find info bout this in tutorials,(i use linux mandrake 9.1) i read the help instalation file that came with the modem and it say's i should have the following packages instaled on my pc : : kernel-source : gcc-cpp : tracerounte : usb view . now i couldent find the gcc-cpp and the kernel-source packages on my mandrake instalation cd's so im kinda wondering where i should get them... (and what the kernel-source packadge is about). Than the help file tell's me to go to the directory with the drivers and type uname -r to check my version (after su of course) my version was : 2.4.21-0.13mdk. than acording to the help file i sould do
./install linux-2.4.21-0.13mdk
wich brings up that i dont have an folder called linux-2.4.21-0.13mdk doesent exist.
id be more than glad with a lil advice..... thanx
