Question Newbie Help

MACHINE:
1.2 Ghz AMD duron
512MB DDR-PC2100
20 Gig Maxtor HD
CD-ROM
conexant modem 56k
USB 2.0
AC97 Sound Card

ok i finally got mandrake 9.0 to install. it use to freeze during the HD detection process but i got around it by hitting F1 and useing the "alt2" kernal and evrything went through fine. now when i got mandrake up and running i think i found out where i can view attached devices like CDROM, HD, Mouse,Keyboard but i really cant seem to find where it will let me know that linux has detected my ethernet card or USB and sound to let me configure or set them up or view anything that may not be working properly. any help would be greatly appreciated.
i just need my sound and USB, ethernet can come last

Have you tried running drakconf. There should be documentation at the mandrake website that can help. Sorry I couldn't offer more help but I don't have a mandrake installation.

Doesn't Mandrake come with Kudzu - it's a hardware detection program that normally runs on startup. Try doing a `man kudzu` on the command line for options.
