New wireless mouse and keyboard

Hello all,

I recently installed a new wireless mouse and keyboard to my Ubuntu system. My XFCE session no longer starts like it should. It looks like my X server tries to start but it never fully completes the command. I have attached the xorg.0.log.
Attached Files
File Type: log Xorg.0.log (17.1 KB, 22 views)

Well uninstall w/e you have installed that will probably fix the problem with Xserver. And by the way what exactly have you installed? Have you tried to just plug the new devices to see if they work or did you install that stuff first?

Regards

Check your dmesg it'll have a request for a certain driver, I tried to look for the wireless driver & there was othing specific, but dmesg will be.

If your old keyboard and mouse were PS2 and the new wireless is USB, you could check if the bios has a setting for enabling usb keyboard and mouse. I guess all new systems don't need that, but an older one might.

Make sure your batteries are good too.

Thanks for posting and thanks all.

I should have marked this as solved. I ended up simply switching one set of wireless mouse and keyboard with another set that I had.

Which meant that those wireless drivers were already available, had u have entered the command

dmesg
you would've seen the request for modules or drivers.
Like me you prefer the other keyboard, why not find out what's missing?
