Help with IBM Trackpoint "eraser"

Sorry for not following up on my previous Cisco wireless posts. I solved the problem by installing Libranet 2.7, it detected and installed the card OK. I think Libranet is better than RH8 and Lycoris but I now have two new problems.

First one: the Trackpoint "eraser" pointer doesn't work at all. I have searched the net and it is supposed to be automatically detected (I don't remember seeing specific IBM mouse options during installation). Do I have to edit XFree86?

Second: I need to use accents on foreign languages but the "international keyboard" option doesn't work. It doesn't work on a Dell Inspiron laptop either. Same thing with Lycoris and Red Hat.

Thanks,

Val

please do not bump threads, especially you only asked it 6 hours previously.

and i'd suggest that aiming questions at specific people is not a good idea. Finegan knows loads, but so do an awful lot of other people here...

Yeah man, I know dink all about XF86Config goofiness with mice, although you might see if its a common pitfall for your stinkpad over at www.linux-laptop.net My eraserhead has worked out of the box with all er... 3 or 4 distros that have been on it.

As for the keyboard issue, even less of a clue, the only time I've had to change the keyboard was when I got bored and wanted dvorak.

I recommend using the "edit" feature and changing the title of this thread.

Cheers,

Finegan

Suggestion followed, I apologize.

At least the Trackpoint problem is solved. I switched the mouse from USB to PS/2 and the eraser is working.

Thanks a lot!

Val
