New Mobo Chipset Choice
Morning....
I'm leaving for work now the once...so I'll be quick. I will also apologize if this has already been answered here/other... with christmas coming and work being busy...I'm really finding it hard to find the time to read into this. Doesn't help I havn't read up on chipsets since the kt266a either .... :( Thinking of getting either Via Kt600, kt880, or Nforce 2 for the AMD Athlon XP Chipset. Leaning towards the Kt600 as I can't seam to find many/any kt880's around here...and the kt600 is close to the nforce in benchmarks...and cheaper right now Questions still have... I) have an ATI 9600 Pro 128 meg vid card.....anyone have any problems with ATI Card in Nivdia Boards? 2) that 4 prong power connector I see on the Nividia boards.... My understanding is that you needed that if you were going to use the built in Nividia Video card only....elsewise you could leave it unplugged? 3) I thought you could get Nividia boards without the built in graphics but I keep seeing that 4 prong power connector, so I'm confused. 4) I don't see any real reviews with the Via Kt880 chipset even between it and the kt600??? (Toms hardware, Anandtech, hothardware, sharky's.......) I believe the difference between these two is Dual channel memory Giga ethernet on the MCP... but that's all I've really seen in the one story I did find. Anyone got any links to some good reviews? Beyond this....any general info on your thoughts on these chipsets would be great. Thank you... Now it's off to the dungeon for me... |
