New Mobo and FC 2

Had to replace my motherboard and wonder about installing FC 2.

Motherboard is a Abit Fatal1ty AA8xe.
Chipset: Intel 925XE/Intel ICHR6
Abit website says this board works with Red hat 9 buts says nothing about any of the drivers for Audio/USB/1394 and so on.

Processor is P4 3.06 GHz 800 MHz FSB

1 GB of DDR2 533 Ram

Video Card is a ATI Radeon X700 Pro (PCI Express)

Has anyone had any experience with this hardware and Fedora Core 2 ?

It should autodectect you USB/soundcard fine. I use a Radeon X800 Pro, and drivers installed fine. ATi's new drivers are finally working pretty easy apparently. MOther board, couldn't tell you more thna Redhat did, I use an Asus.

Installed FC 2 today and got:

during install: Couldn't find video device, assume headless

After installation and on first boot up:

Booting Fedora Core (2.6.5-1.358)
Agpgart: unsupported Intel Chipset (Device ID: 2584)
Kernal Panic: VFS: Unable to mount Root FS iin unknown- Block (0,0)

Does all this mean that Linux can not be installed on my system or is there something else I can try ?

My experience with Linux can be measured in minutes so please be detailed.

Sure would like to have an alternative to Windows
